15 years on pad, transitioning to stick

It took me over seven months to transition, I still have the occasional hiccups but im cool with it. The problem is running before you could walk analogy. I tried doing stuff I did on pad on a stick it didnt work.

I learned stick playing KOF games, stupid execution based game haha.

Also DESK is from the England.

i only knew how to play pad for years, i eventually got the stick and learnt in about 1 week. it was more than 1 week as i only play twice a week but it took me 6-7 days all together. the way i did it was to practice motions and simple combos in training mode (CvS2).then after training mode complete the game on arcade mode everytime to help me learn how to maneuver my character comfortably on stick. (at this period, do not fight humans it will be very very fraustrating (use pad), unless its a brother/cousin/friend helping you.) so the aim of arcade mode was not to do combos, thats what training mode was for, it was to just get better at character movement on a stick which is just as important as practicing motions. after a while you will see you are one with the stick.

the most important thing to know is that you see your improvements the next time you train, not on the current session. CvS2 had some weird super motions, like akuma, so i would train and keep failing. even though i was failing, it was subconciously becoming muscle memory, so the next time i trained, i would get the motions down effortlessly wondering, wtf? i couldnt even do this last time. remember start with the simple stuff 1st, it will come to you sooner than you think. good luck
