I like how crucades is not mentioning the Armenian genocide of Turks. The Turks have the proof and scholars from everywhere, even the us have researched it. Problem with the Armenian situation is that the Armenians just want a financial retribution, and are not interested in any kind of investigation into the matter. The reason is very simple, it’s because they started it and are just as guilty, if not more. The Turks might have killed more, but the Armenians were barbaric themselves. The fact that you wait for the men to leave and attack women, children and elderly says more than enough about what they are really like. The fact that they don’t want any kind of investigation in the matter says it all really (women with titties cut of and shit, babies thrown into fires etc).

The West is so disconnected from the mindset of the truly religious, it’s laughable. The dialogue and discourse about this subject is just further proof of how blind the West as a whole is to the mindset of the Muslim community and people. Imagine someone is walking down the street and another person walks up to them and spits in their face. That is the equivalent, to Muslims, of what this publication was doing. So, if that person reacts violently, perhaps even murderously, you may condemn them for going too far or being too violent, but you will at least, on some level, understand the action they took, and place part of the blame on the person who initiated the confrontation. That is why many Muslims, while they do not approve of the attack, will understand and sympathize with it at least somewhat.
Westerners are incapable of understanding this, because to them, what this publication did is merely satire. The West is such a secular society that they do not understand what a sacred thing really is any longer, and what that really means. To the Muslims this wasn’t satire, it was sacrilege. What you’re seeing here is what you can see across Western societies in a variety of ways, which is the attempt to meld incompatible cultures and values, while retaining their unique nature. This is impossible, on a fundamental level, and so what has resulted is essential mini societies within society itself. That is why you have multiple Shariah law courts operating within countries like England, because the people using them do not view the secular law of the land as true law.
The fact is that either the West or the Muslims will have to adapt, and alter the way their societies function to attain a real merger as a people and as a society. Either the Islamists must abandon their religious standpoint and cultural traditions, to at least some extent, or the West will have to adapt to them, and change the way it operates, including on the level of free speech and many other areas. Otherwise, this kind of thing is going to continue, as two entirely different viewpoints and value systems constantly butt heads with each other.
Fun fact the same proportion of muslims in the UK want Sharia Law as white British folk want severely increased punishment for crime. Unhappy/insulted Muslims should realize that peaceful protest is a very powerful option instead of looking to violence whether it be with AK-47s or stones.

The fact that the western countries that they live in will not limit freedom of speech. It is a right to assemble and state your grievances against anyone who has offended you. Drawing Muhammad is offensive and uncomfortable for the followers of Islam. Then why would anyone do it then? To push the envelope of freedom of speech and to show the world the types of things possible in a truly free country. Do Muslims think that if this offense is allowed then it will be a regular occurrence or think that the Western world wants to constantly offend one of the most largely followed religions in the world? The western and eastern world will never integrate if it has to compromise its freedom of speech to do so. Why would the Muslim community want to move anywhere in the Western world if they see us as having all of the vices of the modern world? Why advocate our destruction instead of for our separation? It just makes no sense to me.
