Stop trying to kill the hype. It’s useless. I don’t want you to waste your energy trying to stop a train that has no breaks!

I see your angle; however, I was actually responding to some information provided awhile ago by Z, himself, on Salty Cupcake concerning the patch and the conditions under which the patch (as well as possible future content) was being warrented under. I understand: this is not DIRECTLY related to the patch; more of “what do u have to go through to get content, like this patch, approved”… aside from the SCEE/SCEA/MS process. And admittedly, the last inquiry was more of an attempt to get a look inside the gaming ambitions of the one that is Mike Zaimont, which I feel fits the “open-mic” dialog of this; however, I do not deny the detour-of-topic that my last question posed.

Are you ready for this SC rehyping?

I remember that being stated way back in the day when we first thought the patch would come out. I’m still hoping that squiggly uses her parasite like a grappling hook for pseudo 8-way air dashes and that she has some really sick coughorsexycough stances.

Hey, Mike…are you in a position where you can tell us what the Squiggly specific changes were and/or how they can be utilized? I don’t believe it was ever stated if the changes were to the fighting system itself, a mechanic, or some background data organizing changes…

  • Thank you to the person that posted that very complimentary post a few ago that I totally ignored. You’re very nice, and I’m glad people enjoy the game…that’s what it’s for!

  • HitBoxes: SG reads directions the bug-free way: L+R = neutral, U+D = neutral. Extensively tested on keyboard. You’re good.

  • DLC…there is no information concerning DLC available at present. No characters are complete, no characters are secretly being worked on in dark alleys. Some changes to the engine in preparation for Squigly did, in fact, go into this patch, but that means less than nothing. If you choose to derive false hope from this info, that’s your own problem. I wouldn’t. I just cry.

Both parts of this are wrong…the first one was related to the patch - the major issue for anything PAST the patch has got nothing to do with Sony/MS, how much we WANT to be working on things, or any other factor aside from one. For the 2nd part, nobody’s combat-ready (wtf, yo). Having fleshed-out a design that we would like to implement is very far away from “nearly done” or even “partially done”. There are many (“more than a few”) characters that we have designs/playstyles for and partial/complete ideas about, but again, that’s totally unrelated to whatever will or won’t get done from here. Unless you know someone with a few million dollars.

If you think this comes across as mildly negative, you’re right. (^.^) You could have not asked.

I’d PREFER to have one game indefinitely expanded by DLC and system updates until it becomes its own sequel, like we planned. That’s a better value for the consumer than a sequel is, lower cost-for-content and everything. Don’t infer anything from this, my realistic expectations have been altered by gazing upon the soul-crushing hidden face of game-dev-as-business.

PATCH PARTY ERRYDAY!!! =O

Left and right together result in neutral (4+6=5, lol) and down and up together I believe result in an up.

Funny how completely erroneous comments will garner attention and answers. Just gotta poke the bear long enough (^w^) Thank you for your cooperation. I am sincere in my apologies for making you garner negativity towards my false words. As in response to your reply: I find this quite interesting and truly do appreciate all of the work that you have put in. I am no fool (I am rather realistic/pessimistic of such matters), as I do not underestimate the efforts that are required for such tasks that I have falsely posed prior. I will not hold my breath for DLC anytime soon; however, I will, admittedly, be ecstatic should any (especially characters) be released. Concerning the second response, I simply appreciate and agree with your perspective.

As for the “hidden face,” more power to you Mr. Z! I, myself, had aspirations to develop games and/or animate but I’ve not the capacity for patience for that background noise. I am thankful that you, however, do possess that and have been able to deliver this gem unto the masses.

Keep up the amazing work.

They only get answers if it’s something I want to say.

And nope Dev, U+D = neutral in SG. But I think the HitBox fixed it internally, yeah, so that U+D = U.

Yes, I was referring to how Toodles’ modified Cthulhu board handles it for the HitBox (since that’s what the guy I was quoting was asking about). I believe the SOCD cleaner kit he sells does the same as well.

I’m not here to cause argument, just to conversate. But here is something that IS, in fact, patch related: I read on a forum that a special reference/easter egg is to be included in the patch for when a 23-hit combo is reached with Filia. Is there any truth behind this statement?

“Converse”? :^(

We support professional-quality fan projects with high production values, created to further the appeal of Skullgirls to a wider audience. We also voted NO on California’s Measure B. (^.~)

Oh, it’s true.

And now my interest is piqued…do tell us more. Or at least tease me a little. I’m a masochist when it comes to SG info at this point…

Shit! Honest grammer error on my part. And YES!! That is by far one of the best-stated answers to a question that I have heard in a long time XD But I’d expect nothing less from the big man himself. lol

probably will just be a different word on the combo meter for getting 23 hits like the 37 (in a row).

best combo number ever

i still think the funky cat should have been a reflectable projectile though…

Naw bro, 23 hits and filia explodes into the gooey marshmellow stuff that holds rice crispy bars together.

Also, was it ever explained how to get the funky cat or is it completely random? Out of all the time I’ve put into Skullgirls, I’ve only seen it once.

I think there’s very little chance to summon her if you hit with Bella’s Lock’n’Load IIRC.

Wait, its only 23 hits with Filia? I thought they just changed the adjective…

yea you hit with bellas lock n load and theres a small chance you see it. i reckon ive seen it on about 10 seperate occasions now  plus im pretty sure its a different colour depending on the colour bella you have. i always drop what im doing and chase it when it appears.
