Should I even support a non Mike Z/Alex Ahad Skullgirls?

Would it even be Skullgirls to me?

It’d be like trying to stick with Crash Bandicoot after Naughty Dog stopped making em.

I suppose you could create your own company, create a fortune from a game called Dome Dudes, buy back the SG ip, and then make a cross over game called Skullgirls vs Dome Dudes: Fate of Two Genders…

Is there anyway to reclaim your game somewhere down the road? If so, would there be any plans to bring the game to a franchise status? From what I understand, the Skullgirls storyline (whether it be canon or not) is but a sliver of the universe, so could sequels be in the cards for other slives of the universe? Understanding fully that this will be total conjecture, but the potential for Mike Z and Alex Ahad to create a vast number of character-lines in various story-eras is pretty immense.

EX: creating an entire new cast, a new skullgirl, perhaps the Medici family has fallen (or even pre-Medici-era/Nancy Renoir-era), a “Dome Dude” for the male-equivalent. etc. etc.

EDIT - Clawguys for the male equivalent. Huh? Huh? I think it could work.

These questions all seem like things that would best be addressed in the long distant future after said migration of staff occurs, no?

Patch release is finally almost here, people jump tracks to what they’ll be playing after Skullgirls is shut down?

Fair enough claim. I suppose it is merely within my pragmatic nature to wonder and fantasize. Lol. And I am genuinely interested in the ambitions of the developers. I will say, though, that two DLC characters were claimed to be release-ready post-launch; that being said, I am well aware of the red tape, hurdles and overall BS that Mike Z (and a lot of other developers) have to go through to get stuff online… especially with Microsoft’s business-models of Profit-over-Customer-Service.

I am excited for this patch to come through though and am actively checking in to see when it is released.

Uh, no? Not ever. :^) Just trying to keep the record straight.

Anyway YEAH ignore all the possibly bad things, PATCH.

I am thinking about getting an xbox just incase the whole SECA thing takes more than like 2 weeks.

Was that a joke? Did you make a joke?

My apologies. Just some bad intel that EVERYBODY enjoyed floating on the web. And after exploring this thread, I realize it must be like pulling teeth… nay, impossible to obtain imformation about future DLC from you. haha. May I, if u will, float this humble inquiry: is there any truth to the Squigly rumor of being one of the sooner (if not first) DLC characters, or even if the designs/program has been created for her? I recall watching on a Salty Cupcake stream that the major issue with extra content is whether Sony/Microsoft would approve supporting the content; I also recall you mentioning that several characters are essentially combat-ready and pending on approval from the big wigs upstairs.

A side thought/topic-starting, what are your hopes for the future of the Skullgirls game (mind you that I am asking about your personal wish for the game, not the directed future that Reverge and Autumn have in the works)? In otherwords, if this were a game that you were merely a fan of (not a developer) would you prefer its developers to expand a single game with continuous DLC-releases or create a franchise from it?

I apologize if I am a bit overly ambitious with my questions XD

The squiggly bit can be answered just by looking at the patch notes. They’re making system changes in the patch for Squiggly that no other character will use.

You’ll never know.

I’m actually thinking of getting a PS3 because Xbox’s fan service is continually putting me at odds… Literally, the Sonly thing that keeps me sticking with the console is the exclusives (Halo, Gears), but ony provides much more content for its fan i.e. Mortal Kombat, Assassin’s Creed 3, AC Brotherhood, AC Revelations, and Mass Effect 3… among basically anyother new dual-console release. It’s like Microsoft stopped giving a shit.

Either way, I don’t like it.

Back to patch shit before Duckie comes in and suffocates me with a shimapan…

I’m thinking about picking up hitbox, do you think anything that the hitbox can do will potentially hurt the game, or did you already look for shit like that, Mike?

You look hot.

IIRC, Space, hitboxes have been accomodated by disallowing dual direction presses (so no holding forward and back to block crossups always).

Which one takes precendence is something I don’t remember, but I think the first one you hit does (so holding forward and tapping back afterwards has the character continue to walk forward no problem).

(Feel free to correct me…)

I heard about it fixing marvel 3 shit, but I just wanted know if there was an inherent difference in the coding between the two games that the hitbox could fuck up and if Mike was on his batman shit, diligently watching over us.

Girl you best believe I’m lookin good all the time.

I know everyone is thirsty for more information, but you actually stated in your own question how Mike never answers DLC questions. Do you really expect much of an answer?

And then after that you ask a completely separate question unrelated to anything while responding to Mike’s post where he actually states he wants the thread to go back talking on the patch?

Getting an open mike with… Mr. Zaimont is a great opportunity. Everyone (I’m not directing this just at Killah) really needs to play nicer around here if we want to squeeze any more information and insights of him.

Everyone, let’s not forget that the Spanish version was the one giving the most trouble, so don’t get your hopes up just yet.

…Ah, who am I kidding? I’m excited.
