(11/20 PSN!) SG: Slightly Different Edition patch notes

Ack I completely forgot about this\. Is there an archive somewhere?

I personally prefer to keep the pussy wet with tears.

Salty tears.

10 seconds in and I’m already laughing though I really shouldn’t. Man…

You mean like 3s was the final game in a line of SF3s? :^P

And yes, no new characters in the patch - which does not mean no new characters at other times. Gah speaking skills.

Skullgirls never cease to amaze me

Loved Filia´s new winposes

Mike… is it too late for lowering damage of things?

Oh god those winposes are indeed back!! I love you Mike :lovin:

Anyone have a link to the Doubles jp hp bug? Apparently my google skills are failing me atm.

WOW Skullgirls is REALLY expensive to make, Ravidrath:

"It’s been discussed, but the general consensus is that there would be extreme sticker shock and we’d never get funded. 2D animation is expensive!

That whole wave seems to be in decline, too - if Mercenary Kings had that hard of a time getting $75k for a full game, I don’t think there’s any way we could get the $200k+ a character costs to make."

He was asked to start a kickstarter for dlc chars, so call all the SG community to buy the PC version because its the only way to see DLC chars in the future.

Those win poses got me ridiculously hype. I don’t remember them from the first time there were apparently shown, but I can’t imagine being more excited than when I saw her do different stuff when she won.

Hmm… if that 200k is accurate, then the at least 50k sold is looking less formidable. Wish we had more sales info, but for the moment that means that only about half the cast was paid off as far as we know. Hoping that sales for both systems and sales from the store evened the odds a bit more than that. When the Port is released, hopefully that will give a decent chunk of money.

I need a job first, but I’m going to be buying everything I can afford from the store. I’ll be buying 8 dollars worth of colors, and I just may, on a very slim chance I have a computer that can function with it, buy the PC port (along with 4 dollars for those colors). A kickstarter may be a good idea, but lets wait until the patch and port comes out, renew people’s attention on the game. No one’s going to put money into a game they think is dead.

jpHP did more hitstun than it was suppose to do unless he meant something else

I check Steam everyday, my body is ready. Also, once again… the new LK Scythe Grab (I can’t even remember the real name for this anymore) looks really really really really… really… really great. Damage is scaled pretty heavily after one of those grabs though, right? The PW ground combo is going to be pretty beefy even with scaling though, I think. Maybe too beefy.

Wow, that is pricey. Especially considering that most full games rarely attempt to put a goal above 900K (and of those, very few actually succeed). A fifth of a full game is seriously intense, and not that I wouldn’t love to see it happen, but I doubt it would succeed easily.

I do wonder who they separated from, exactly, considering both Konami and Autumn are still on the main site.

It costs 200 k to make a character? WTF?

That sounds a bit pricey… Shit if thats real, and i believe it is… Then we’ll be lucky to get even one character.

Im tired of all this bad news. Why cant they just contract india or someshit? If the animation is that expensive just go cheaper for slightly less quality initially then get go the hd remix route once people start playing again… It might be a shit idea, but somethngs got to be done to pull them prices down and i feel like just getting the charcters into peoples hands is a good thing.

As long as the devs let peole know why shit is happening i think the people will grudgingly accept it. And thats better than a hopelessly small roster. Shit… An idea is simply making new characters available as assists only…would be wonky, probably wouldnt work or would be horrid to code… But ideas are needed to get more character content into the game… Perhaps an “assist slot” as a character option… No dhc, just assist… Way less animation needed and lets people pick some diffeent stuff. Just an idea.

I’d really rather not see them compromise their quality, and 200k may seem extreme, but if we think about how they have to pay X number of people for, at minimum, 2 months of work, on top of covering any excess fees for uploading to console servers and bug testing, it’s not unbelievable. But it definitely isn’t something easy to kickstart. Kickstarter is seriously weird about how people market themselves.

And assist only characters sounds like Naruto Ultimate ninja storm, lol.

People are still surprised by how much it costs?

If it takes them a few months and they have to pay everyone’s wages, that is going to pile up to a lot in it’s own right. Then they still have to pay sony/microsoft their “patch” fees and potentially MORE working hours if things aren’t accepted immediately.

Oh, you’re serious. (Remember that for this estimate, “a character” includes their story, background, and whatever portion of the rest of the game is developed during the same time period. So it’s really 1/X of the game’s total cost even though other things are developed during that time.)
I vaguely remember reading somewhere that SF4 cost $4m, which is probably a low estimate. $4,000,000 / 19 characters = about $210,000 a character, and that’s in 3D, which as we all should know is much easier and faster than 2D is now. I keep forgetting consumers aren’t used to seeing what things actually cost, just things like, “Hey this game is $40.”

Making a character in Heroes of Newerth already took 50k$, and that was just copying everything from DotA, throwing some hero model on a base sceleton since hitboxes are irrelevant, and animating 4 skills. Don’t think the 200k estimate sounds any strange.

can parasoul still RC her level 3 when the opponent blocks it???

does this mean she can also hard tag as well?
