2 ports with no lag? Is it blue? Does it have a name or can you find a link or something? Just wondering, I know of a few with dual ports thats many people (including myself) thought were fine for a long while, but eventually proved otherwise.
Yeah its blue and prob the same one your thinking, but Im pretty sure there hasnt been lag when Ive used it, timing is the same as arcade, Ill re A/B test it tonight though comparing PC/supergun/cab, question though on those setups were the usb freqs tweaked or not? I just know me and pat are pretty familiar with xvsf timings and neither of us have noticed lag, nor has anyone else whos used it at c3

use a pelican ps2>ps3 adapter and be safe with it. and usb tweak the ports up to 1000hz. i dont trust those 2 player adapters. especially with both ports used. they were suspect when i used em years back. unless improvements were made since…
how much to use the computers at C3? and do they allow to put emulation games on it?
if not does someone have a laptop? baby jesus’ friend is coming back in town and has to use his. =/.
edit:it would also help a lot if the xvsf players would just lend us their emulation for about 30 mins.
I already told you Xmen is gonna be on supergun now, we arent emulating. We’ve used the C3 comps in the cave for emus before with no payment and there wasnt an issue, doubt it will be if its for 1 thing.
Sabre: Im just saying they can use mine if they want, they can use w/e else they want too, but I nor anyone who has actually used my converter has ever claimed lag, the only people saying that are the ones who havent used it. The setup has been used fine at previous c3s, its kind of annoying for me to offer what I can to help setup and then people who arent involved are jumping in saying what should and shouldnt be used.
oh alright. im kinda new to this supergun thing, does it support mvc1?
and if we can use computers for free then thats the bidness
so will mvc1 be there for sure? will there be a supergun or emulation version of mvc1
Alright, if you say so, but Im telling you heads up I used that convertor for about 4 years, in the middle someone told me that it lags for sure, i said nah thats impossible. Then ggpo came out, and I realized it was true, only because of compounding lag. I would highly recommend just getting 2 pelican adaptors, as they produce the least noticeable lag by popular opinion. I almost guarantee you that shit lags a couple frames, if someone handed it to me I wouldn’t play on it, and I wouldn’t bet money on a match using it ever.
skisonic - i have 1 of 2 pelican adaptors. well i dunno if its pelican for sure but its from radio shack…i dont feel delay at all. its the black n blue one ps2 - > usb.
is dc mvc1 arcade perfect?
dc version has 5 different speeds, and the closest one isnt exactly like the turbo 2 arcade version.
i never tried the xbox versions, but the home versions would seem to be off.
i think we can download emulators on their computers there anyway right?
its emulated from the arcade? that could work well then. except i would need an ps2 -> xbox converter. and someone who has an xbox with the emulation on it.
There are multiple converters that look nearly identical but are different products, I dont know what to tell you about yours(you still didnt say if your usb freq was tweaked or not) but no one has noticed on mine and I think Pat playing xmen would probably notice it. We used a different generic converter someone else brought before I got mine and it was definitely lagging and we noticed.
Magneto: Supergun just plays the arcade board on a TV and has stick inputs, we can run on supergun if someone has an MvC board but I dont think anyone does around here.
Torneezy: When Ive used Xbox emus shit didnt seem right, I dunno if it was the converter, emu, placebo, or what but something was off. Thats using an old version emu though. If someone wants to bring an xbrick I can bring my magic box converter but Im not bringing my xbox cause its too much shit and I only have one converter.
Justin: There will definitely be a playable marvel setup available, as emulator, comp, and converters are all there.
i dont recommend playing mvc1 on xbox. i honestly think fba-xxx or whatever controls like shit. i tried playing a3 and xsf on that emu using an official xbox controller wired up in my stick and it was horrible. supergun equipped with p360’s would be optimal choice since i know both players use 360’s, if that cant happen, then pc emulator is only choice.
n-ken, dont take it personal bud. im just stating from my experiences. and considering lots of money is riding on this matchup, i think its good that people are giving out suggestions for the most logical way to play. i dont think magman or justin wanna play on a setup where settings arent optimal and skew the results.
Oh i missed the question. nah didnt usb tweak, not even sure if it was around back then. I mean theres not a lot of single frame instance in vs games to my knowledge as opposed to other sf games, because I know mvc2 has no meaties/reversals, so it limits those situations. But im not gonna be there, so whatever players feel comfortable goes obviously.
Yeah I get that Im actually with you on that point, we should make sure everything is 100% optimal and have all the preparations taken care of, but unfortunately neither of the competitors made sure they actually had everything(or anything really) I’m trying to give the most options I can for the setup since I have quite a bit of emu/arcade equipment and have brought shit previously, and the fact is atm we have a setup that has been battle tested with no complaints, Id hate for the match to fall through cause people were speculating. Also Tekken is at the tournament as well meaning there will likely be the ps -> ps3 adapters which we may be able to use as backups I dont know, also they should test out the adapters somewhat thoroughly before playing the match as well.
