Ravidrath said that it’s from a fighting game. And if I had to guess, I’d bet that the code is based off of game functions (LP, LK, etc) and not button labels, since those differ between consoles.

All we know is it’s similar to a code used in a previous game.
Most obvious is SNES World Warrior code, pput in during the Autumn/Konami splash like it was during the capcom logo in WW, but that ain’t it. GTA3 costume change code? Nope.
We don’t know WHERE to put it in FFS. For all we know, it could require grabbing a keyboard typing in ‘JUSTIN BAILEY’ during the ending credits.
So it’s at the pause screen?

before pressing START to begin the game:
9 Lives - UP, RIGHT 2 times, DOWN 3 times, LEFT 4 times, B, A.
Stage Select - DOWN 5 times, RIGHT 7 times, B, A.
9 Lives and Stage Select - B, A, B, A, UP, DOWN, B, A, LEFT, RIGHT, B, A.
I have a feeling that you have to input it during the credits, I mean, the credits does have a pause menu… Then again Mike told me he wouldn’t put me through watching the credits again so I am unsure. Tried the O. Characters in ST and even Killer Instinct codes.
I’m really drawn to Killer Instinct codes, I remember Mike saying he liked the combo system for that game.

L1, L2, R2, Start and Select all do not do anything at the main menu: could be something, could be just a dead end, trying to figure out.

My theory for where to input is with the 10th colour highlighted. because if you press buttons it won’t select the character…

I’ll literally go full on autistic nut through this entire thing and input the code everywhere I can think.
