I find it even more hilarious that the people who hate the game go out of their way to try and convince others that they think so

Quick question from someone who doesn’t know shit about the game:

At 0;50, why does the demon do so little damage? Because Q taunted thrice?

Yes.

After he taunts 3x he takes the LEAST amount of damage in the game

I played it for the first time back in 2001 on and off. Back then I picked up Chun Li for a week. Then I scrolled around the rest of the character roster and that’s when I saw Q and said “Whoa this guy looks weird, wonder what he plays like”

Little did I know over eight years later, I would be playing Q and only Q ever since then, winning little tournies here and there, dressing up like him. Was an interesting run indeed and I got my name out there a bit, I wasn’t even good I was just “That guy that plays Q” or just “Q!” when I walked into a room at tournies.

He’s just too cool of a character not to play nonstop. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t even be playing the game because I was actually losing interest in it back then before I gave him a try.

^^^

I remember I fought this guy in an online ranbat. Makoto vs Q. 8-2 in my favor, one of the most broken matchups in the game. But I lost. xD

3rd Strike is a really cool game. After a while I started to despise the parrying stuff because it made me feel like every time I landed a hit I got lucky. Like, every time I landed a combo or tried to hit confirm, there was a good chance that I was going to get combo’d on myself. Knockdowns sometimes feel like they barely grant you any advantage to them at all, because you either leave yourself vulnerable to a parry -> punish combo, or they get away. Especially Yun. If you knock Yun down, you either apply some kind of pressure to him while he gets up, or he’s getting the fuck out of there. There’s no other way. In general I dont play anymore because of Yun and Chun-Li. They’re just too gay. I always dreaded having to fight them with any character except Yun/Chun/Ken.

I used to argue with people in the 3rd Strike forum that Yun and Chun-Li (or their broken supers) should be banned from the game, but most people seemed to think they were fair. I still can’t understand why. At the point where all major tourneys are won by the same 2 characters (out of 19 possible characters)…isn’t it time for them to be banned?

Seriously, is there a single page of this now enormous thread that DOESN’T have someone hating on it?

This is retarded, get the fuck out of the thread and go play ST.

Nah, SRK popularity is based on how much someone hates 3s and loves ST. I never forgot something Valaris said to me which proved my point.

“Tweleve, you lost all credibility when you defended 3s over ST”

You know you still love me <3

I don’t remember saying that at all but yes it’s something I would say.

You’re alright to me, but once you said that I figured since most of TOL has that kind of mentality, it wasn’t worth going there anymore. And believe me, I remember you saying that :wgrin:

I’m flattered you’d remember that. And regarding your TOL comment, they’re not all like that but it’s still not worth going to anymore -_-

If you don’t like J.RH ~ C.RH taking 60% of your health, random dizzies or being tick throw trapped to death (AKA two throws), you are a terrorist, you bastard. :frowning:

That’s another thing, I don’t hate ST lmao. I just don’t play it as much as other games.

Here’s the deal with that. Everyone accepts and understands that they can be retarded characters, but they are not undefeatable.

You know the another thing I really liked about 3rd Strike is that it basically forced you to stop playing with a flowchart.

It’s good to have a plan and all…but always thinking about what the opponent was gonna do in the future was pretty fun.

The idea of that is definitely something I can get behind…

Although don’t get me wrong…I fucking love flowcharts…just not the way most people do them these days.

Forcing someone to try something else to win was something that made 3rd Strike quite enjoyable for me.

Playing with people that don’t play Ken/Yun/Chun was also probably why I had so much fun.

3s > SF4.

had to be said (if it hasnt already)

SF4 > SF3: New Generation, though.

Which is a hugely more accurate comparison.

sf ex > sf4

SF EX > 3s

THA WINNAR!!!
