It was nice to stop by even if I didn’t get to enter. I wanted to play some Marvel against SamB and Ross and SSF4 against Ethan but that’ll have to wait unfortunately.

couple things to say after watching the stream. First off the reason I do the down exchange a lot is because I learned from valle. I watch your hands. In ross case he wasn’t hitting down and s until he saw it on screen. We’re playing on an LCD tv that containts lag. You can’t recation down s because its really already happened. Second why the fuck are we playing on an lcd tv with lag when we had plenty of lagless monitors around. All the dropped combos across the board were a result of lag tv.
On the bright side I usually play on a laggy tv at home so it didn’t bother me as much.
Also I heard somebody say that there are no old school players left since ray left. Karl and I were the first to get good at any game and consistently dominated ray until we left the scene. Give props where props are due people.
GG’s to matt, mark and ross. Anybody else find it amusing that the top 3 all start with MA. I’m going to learn anti haggar and I didn’t think about run canceling the slide so ya’ll got that to look forward to next time

Run cancel slide is godlike! heh. Also you can run cancel she hulk overhead (f+h) to get a free combo off it as well.
OH and also if you learn how to time it she hulk can actually slide under the pipe and hit haggar, its a little weird but you can avoid it. Best thing against haggar pipe imo is to dash to the other side and use something that hits hella high above you. Or just runt he fuck away. heh.

Thanks Slash, I had a great time at this event. There were some regulars there, some new people, and a few og’s. Wish I could say it was lag that made me drop combos, I put that on rust son. Was fun watching Aaron make a run of it with Ken, we were rooting for him as I heard what was on the line lol
Normally I slide under the pipe just like I do against sentinels cuz god knows I love the slide lol. With the lag though its iffy to do it. Sometimes you get hit when you really shouldn’t have. Also why I didn’t command grab you in the corner when you were hopping up with sentinel and why i screwed up command grab resets on matt. But ya I was playin dirty and counting on nobody else remembering there is lag. Not to mention I exchange combo in some strange situations sometimes and yes one time when I exchanged early with shulk was me screwing up the senton relaunch.
Now that I realize you can cxl the run off the slide it answered a question I had about how justin used so many instant overheads. I also know I need to add that to my wolverine game so be looking out for some instant overhead setups with wolverine. My last thing to work on is my unblockables.
Sorry karl and I asked Ethan about it and he said that its just always run off that tv so we assumed you were aware of it and just didn’t care. But yet if you listen to the stream there are comments about people dropping combos. I can’t speak for other people but 99% of the combos I dropped were because of lag.
Yeah, I mean the only game I actually played on that TV seriously was MK, and telling lag in that game is a bit hard since its target combo dash, target combo, dash etc.

like… I dunno, as has been said the last two tournaments have been on that TV and I really didn’t feel huge amounts of lag before, but I mean I know there had to be more than there would be on an ASUS monitor. The past two tournaments didn’t feel that bad (although I guess the slopfest last match in MvC3 grand finals between me and Tanaka last time was pretty hilarious), but this time… I dunno. I can’t say with 100% certainty that it was worse but holy crap did I play like ass in MK9. The game feels pretty sluggish in general but it felt very hard to react to anything, although I just chalked that up to lack of experience with the game. Maybe the entertainment mode got changed on that TV? I dunno.
oh well, I had fun as usual despite the lack of turnout (as usual). GG’s to all I played

ive noticed with my evo monitor, i need to have it in game mode, and 720p to remove lag.
