Hey everyone. I’m back with the first NY tournament of 2010!!! I want this one to be even bigger than the past ones I’ve run. So I’m going to raise the tournament entry from the usual $5 to $10 to fill out the pot a bit. I’m also mulling around some ideas for side tourneys that I think you guys might find fun.

Also the guys from http://www.youtube.com/user/FrameAdvantageDotCom will be there to do a live stream, recording, and live commentary! I hope to see everyone there!

For those of you taking the train from Penn station use the Port Jeff line and get off at the Smithtown station.

The tournaments run will be :

  • Street Fighter 4 - Xbox360
  • Tekken 6 - PS3
  • HDR - Xbox 360
  • SF3s - PS2
  • UMK3 - MAME (Sticks and such are provided)
  • MBAA - JPS2

House Fee : $10
Tournamet Entry : $10

The prize pots will be split between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
70%/20%/10%

SFIV Rules -

  • All characters allowed.
  • Rounds are best 2/3 rounds and matches are best 2/3.
  • Finals will be best 2/3 rounds and 3/5 matches.
  • Double Elimination

Tekken 6 -

  • All characters allowed
  • Rounds best 3/5 matches 2/3
  • Finals will be best 4/7 and 3/5 matches
  • Double elimination

SF3 Third Strike -

  • Gill is banned
  • Rounds are best 2/3 rounds and matches are best 2/3.
  • Finals will be best 2/3 rounds and 3/5 matches.
  • Double Elimination

HDR Rules -

  • Akuma is banned
  • Double elimination
  • Rounds are best 2/3 rounds and matches are best 2/3.
  • Finals will be best 3/5 rounds and 2/3 matches.

UMK3 -

-Most likely will be run on MAME
-Double Elim
-All Characters
-2/3 to winners and losers finals
-3/5 winners/losers finals
-4/7 grand finals

Melty Blood : Actress Again

  • double elimination
  • original balance settings
  • all characters are allowed except Archtype Earth
  • 2/3 matches and Grand Finals 3/5

Tekken 6 and HDR will be run on the store’s LCD TV’s, SF4 and SF3 will be run on CRT televisions.

Also if anyone is willing to bring their PS3 to this we would greatly appreciate it! The store only has one PS3 to use so we would need a few more for Tekken 6. Also if anyone is willing to bring anything else to help out from Systems to games to CRT televisions it would be greatly appreciated!

I’m gonna have to miss this one d00d. I’m gonna be out in Colorado. You guys are gonna have to do a tournament without my horrendous Dan. shock and awe No but really i hope there’s a good turnout as usual. ( b ’ ')b Any chance i could tag along with you if you can get to battlefield arcadia #9 though? =P

Sorry d00d ;_;, but in terms of a recommendation for a side tournement, either have people in this thread put in recommendations or pick some obscure game. Clayfighter 63 1/3rd represent. Or run Tuff E Nuff (SNES) on an emulator.

I’m actually thinking of putting UMK3 on the lineup for this. We have a copy of clayfighter 63 and a 1/3rd so thats a possibility

I’m running 3rd Strike as usual. I’ll record Top 8 if there’s space and time.

I vote for some GG:AC, I can bring a ps2 and a omni-ps2 controll (useable by all) and of course GG :smiley:

Ima be down for T6, maybe sf4. Casuals for anything I’m deff down for.

Side Note: Is there a venue-discount for equipment?

Unfortunately I can’t really do a venue discount for bringing equipment. If this were my own place I absolutely would but my boss, while being a nice guy, only lets me run it because he makes a good profit with the venue fee. But if you come up to me before hand I’ll see if theres something I can do. I try my best to be accommodating as possible for people who help me out by bringing setups.

John just called me about this today. I’ll be bringing UMK3 to this as well as MK2 and KI. Not sure if we’ll get tournaments for MK2 and KI, but they will be there for casuals for sure. Sticks will be provided. If players want to use pads, they will have to provide thier own pads.

Thanks a lot for the help man. Ever since John’s last NCFN I’ve been really interested in UMK3 and I’ve wanted to run it.

haha nice man. I’m planning on making this the biggest and hypest tourney I’ve run yet. Expect some serious shit to be announced soon.

I’ll probably be there for HDR. If MvC2 is there (even as side-tournament) I can def. bring 1 more person with me.
